Olfactory

It happened again.  I hurried past the kiosk and I stopped in my tracks.  That familiar smell of cigars wafted up my nostrils.  For a second I was back in my grandfather's study with his leather spinning chair and scratchy wool Persian carpet.  I could almost see the clear glass jar on his desk filled with the rainbow colored peanut m-n-m's.   No matter how the adult me feels about tobacco- it is still a smell that not only  makes me smile, but also makes feel three again.

Disclaimer: What I wouldn't give to be laying on my belly on that carpet watching, "The Wonderful World of Disney," right now.
